The Chausie is a cat breed of normal build with a short coat. It traces back to United States. It originated as a hybrid of the Abyssinian × jungle cat (Felis chaus). Its coat usually shows solid black, black grizzled tabby and black ticked tabby patterning. It carries recent wild-cat ancestry, so check local ownership laws and choose a well-socialised, later-generation cat. Cats commonly live 12–18 years, so this is a long-term commitment.
